There were lots of picnic tables with umbrellas for us to dine at. A few of us opted for the Whistle Hamburger which turned out to be a beef patty covered in chili wrapped in a bun.
The beef patty supplied some texture in the sandwich; otherwise it was dull. I could not discern the cheese or bacon flavours. The chopped white onion added some depth to the burger structure. The bun was very dry and flaky. Bill commented "More chili on burger than burger." Mike wrote "This hamburger was all about chili.
The sauce added taste without too much grease, the bacon was crisp and fresh, however the cheese, lettuce and other toppings were nearly unnoticeable." Karen evaluated the Fatboy "It had a soft Kaiser roll with loads of saucy lettuce and huge tomato. The hamburger is chewy-thin and actually dark coloured.
A couple of burgerettes had the bacon burger. "The patty looked like a frozen hamburger patty and kind of tasted like one as well however the bacon was great and crispy" stated Mireille.
This was just a run-of-the-mill burger." Opinions varied on the fries and I suspect they tasted finest when they were hot. Mike believed "the french fries were terrific!" Brian wrote "French fries where listed below average." A wonderful function of the WPD is that it shares the parking lot with a DQ and as everyone understands, hamburgers should constantly be followed up with ice-cream.
All's well, that ends well!.
